Guacamole

Guacamole

Guacamole is one of those base master type recipes that can have endless variations, and indeed I was able to create one that fits in with the Eat To Live diet. Meaning, no added fats or oils, and no added salt. In fact, we all agreed that this batch was one of the best tasting guacamole’s I had ever made.

All ingredients are combined in a large bowl and mixed and mashed by hand with a spoon.

Ingredients
3 Hass Avocados, ripe, peeled
¼ Cup Onion, minced
¼ Tsp Cumin powder
¼ Tsp Chili powder
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
½ Tsp Garlic powder
1 Medium Roma or Plum tomato, diced
Procedure Steps
1. Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix with a spoon while mashing the avocado with the back of the spoon until smooth.

This recipe was prepared on Eat To Live, Week 1 Day 5, and linked from Eat To Live, Week 1 Day 5&6 of our ETL diet, you can follow our progress at Eat To Live.

ok, now I have a story yesterday I put three avocado;s in my basket had no idea how to make this, and I love it, seen alot of recipes but not a clue how to peel cut up mash or whatever you do with it, I order it plain in a sandwich with cucumbers. This is exactly what I needed to know how you mash it without ruining it, who would have thought the back of a spoon…your my hero again! love this recipe making it now actually no onion thank you thank you thank you such perfect timing!

have any good ideas for things to add to give guac a little extra kick/spice or will the chili powder be enough?

    Taylen,

Add some hot sauce and diced jalapenos for some kick!

Beautiful bowl of guacamole! Seriously, guacamole is one of those things that once I start eating it I just can’t stop. I love the contrasting textures and flavors. Nothing else quite like it, is there?
