Garlic

We sowed our first sets of seed garlic cloves in the fall following the colder climate method, and is typically the last crop to go into the garden before winter. Garlic is usually planted in the late fall and harvested the following early summer.

Doiron is an advocate for new policies, technologies, investments, and fresh thinking about the role of gardens. His successful petition to replant a kitchen garden at the White House attracted broad international recognition. He is also a writer, photographer, and public speaker.

Patty Pan Squash Casserole

This is a variation on a traditional squash casserole recipe that we prepared in the restaurant almost on a weekly basis, but it always contained yellow squash as the main ingredient. With the plethora of patty pan squash produced from our garden this growing season we have had to come up with various ways of utilizing this fabulous vegetable.
