{"id":83,"date":"2008-08-26T11:05:09","date_gmt":"2008-08-26T15:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cajunchefryan.rymocs.com\/blog2\/?p=83"},"modified":"2010-03-15T13:55:53","modified_gmt":"2010-03-15T17:55:53","slug":"beignets-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cajunchefryan.rymocs.com\/blog2\/recipes\/beignets-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Beignets at Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On a recent trip to The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tipsygourmet.com\" target=\"_blank\">Tipsy Gourmet<\/a> in Wake Forest we saw they had the Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix,\u00a0and Ben said he wanted to have some beignets at home so we bought the box.<\/p>\n<p>This past Sunday (08\/24\/08)\u00a0 I took the box and prepared one batch of the mix which is 2 cups of the mix and 7 ounces of cool water.<\/p>\n<p>Mix this well until a smooth dough is formed and then roll it out into a 1\/8&#8243; thickness sheet.<\/p>\n<p>Then cut the dough into 2 1\/4&#8243; X 2 1\/4&#8243; squares, which are quite smaller than the ones you get at Cafe du Monde, but I suppose the directions are meant for home kitchens with smaller fryers. I also gently tossed some of the hot oil on top while they were frying.
